How to choose a winch mount for the Nissan Navara

Dedicated mount or multi-mount option

A dedicated winch mount is designed for a specific Navara generation and fits at the points specified by its manufacturer. Multi-mount plates and portable cradles usually slot into a tow hitch receiver and can be moved between vehicles with a compatible receiver. Check the product description for the generation and model years it is intended for.

Matching the mount to the winch

Compare the mount's bolt pattern with your winch and check the mount's stated maximum capacity. If you have not chosen a winch yet, see the Nissan Navara winches.

Fairlead

The fairlead fits on the mount, in front of the drum. A roller fairlead is usually used with steel cable, and an aluminium hawse fairlead with synthetic rope. You can find options in the Nissan Navara winch category.

Frequently asked questions

What capacity should the mount have compared to the winch?

The mount's stated maximum capacity should be at least equal to the winch's line pull. Check both values on the product pages. If one is missing, ask us before ordering.

How is a portable cradle or multi-mount plate used?

The cradle slides into the tow hitch receiver and is secured with a pin. Check the receiver size on your vehicle and whether the winch power supply is included or has to be fitted separately.

What happens to the number plate after fitting?

With some winch mounts, the winch or fairlead ends up in front of the number plate. Look at the product photos and description. If it is unclear, ask us before ordering how the plate can be repositioned.
